Mongoose Women's Woodland Bicycle (White)

You can have an experience with this bike. It is a joyful experience. You don't even need the instruction manual. All you do is pop the handlebars into place and set it to the appropriate height and tighten with an Allen wrench...put the front wheel on, TOTALLY self-explanatory, and screw on the peddles. It does need to be adjusted, the front disc brake, easily achievable with the dial provided, and also  the handles, also easily done with allen wrench. The bike is beautiful and is a very smooth ride.

It rides well. The 29'er tires make riding on rough surfaces easier. Even riding grassy fields is easier than with my 26" wheel mountain bike. The seat is surprisingly comfortable. The bike is not too heavy, especially considering its size. Weight is kept down with the use of alloy parts. Besides the frame being aluminum (not including the 'chain stay' aka rear fork which are steel), the handle bars, thread-less stem, seat post, crank arms, yoke of the front fork, and calipers are all aluminum too. The brake levers are aluminum and plastic, and that is just junk to be replaced with a quality all alloy set of levers. Levers are cheap, so it surprising that they would cut corners on the levers.

Mongoose Status 3.0 Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

This dual suspension bike, dual disc Promax brakes, deep V Arrow wheels with fat 2.35 tires in a cool star spoke pattern, and best of all an aluminum hydro-formed frame that is as sexy as it is durable! All for under $400 but you will need to add some more parts to ride comfortably, like pedals, a handlebar and a seat. This is by far the best investment on a bike ever made.
